Health Alerts

Please check this page regularly for periodic updates

We have compiled this information into a single location source, to reduce the number of individual emails, posts or messages to our members and greater paddling community related to our club activities.

If i can ask one thing for you to do and that is: If you feel unwell or unsure of the symptons -> get tested!

Then ask yourself  "...What can I do to make sure I do not pass this onto my friends, family or loved ones..." - Its simple right?

How we live: Information for Victorians

Staying COVIDSafe

From 11:59 pm on Friday 22nd April 2022, things quietly changed to this limbo state...

Face masks

  • Face masks are still required or recommended in some settings. See When to wear a face mask for more information.
  • Carry a face mask when leaving home. Face masks are required for everyone aged 8 and above in some locations, including on public transport and in sensitive settings such as hospitals and care facilities.
  • They strongly recommend that you wear a face mask if you:
    • have any COVID-19 symptoms
    • are with people who may be vulnerable to COVID-19
    • are in a space where you cannot physically distance.

MOCC Training & Events

  • All Club craft bookings has resumed.

  • Regatta / Events have resumed.

  • You still need to register/book into a training session via our website.

Important Links (Victoria focused):

There are really only 3-4 links you should be referencing and I have added them below, in respect to our local state, for Victoria:

  1. Vic Emergency: https://emergency.vic.gov.au/respond/
  2. Vic Gov:  COVIDSafe Settings: Information for all Victorians
  3. Aust. Gov: https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert

I highly recommend you download the app: VIC Emergency to your smartphone (Android & Apple), for concise and all up to date Alerts relevant to Victoria, not just this pandemic.

As always stay safe, look after your family, friends and especially those that are at most risk!

Medical Advice:

It is not the purpose of this page to provide you with medical advice, there are dedicated sites to provide you the professional advice you need to act on to reduce your exposure to this virus.

There is a Coronavirus hotline available ==> 1800 675 398

  • If you suspect you may have the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) call the dedicated hotline – open 24 hours, 7 days.
  • Please keep Triple Zero (000) for emergencies only.

Also refer to your regions government health pages for more details on how to deal with infection and in turn limiting the transmission to your friends, family and more importantly those that are more at risk of getting a more severe reaction to this virus.

VIC Emergency: https://emergency.vic.gov.au/respond/

The above link is also available as an app for your smartphone (Android & Apple OS)

Mis-information:

Given how well connected we are with social media, news and the like, this can lead to sometimes receiving advice that may not always be entirely correct no matter how well intentioned it began.

Always remember to read messages with a pinch of salt and if it doesnt sound right, verify the reported claims of facts with your trusted medical health professional or the official health sites specific to your region.
